Fourth quarter you read a novel set in the Southern United States in 1962.   After her recent graduation from the University of Mississippi, white socialite Skeeter returns to her home town of Jackson, Mississippi (the state capital) and decides to write about the experiences of African-American maids employed by white families there.  The voices of the maids (Aibileen and Minnie) and Skeeter first-person narrate the story.
